University in Jizzakh illegally used gas worth 3.5 billion soums

In the Zarbdor district of Jizzakh region, cases of illegal use of natural gas worth 3.5 billion soums and, in the Gallaaral district, electricity worth 2.2 billion soums were detected. This was reported by the Inspectorate for Control over the Use of Electric Power, Petroleum Products, and Gas under the Cabinet of Ministers.
It was reported that during an inspection of the building housing the correspondence department of Jizzakh Pedagogical University in the Zarbdor district, it was discovered that the capacity of the gas equipment installed in the building exceeded the maximum capacity of the gas meter. A report was drawn up regarding the incident, and the volume of natural gas was recalculated. According to preliminary findings, the damage amounted to 3 billion 520 million soums.
Additionally, during a joint inspection conducted by the Jizzakh Regional Department of Uzenergoinspektsiya and the regional prosecutor’s office, it was found that the family enterprise ’’A.U.B.’’ in the Gallaaral district had illegally connected to the network and was using electricity without authorization. As a result of this violation, preliminary calculations showed that the electricity supply company suffered damages totaling 2 billion 217 million soums.
It was noted that law enforcement authorities are currently conducting a pre-investigation inquiry into the incidents.
It was reported earlier that in September of this year, illegal use of energy resources in Uzbekistan caused a total of 80.4 billion soums in damages to the system.
