Individuals who slaughtered and ate dogs in Yangiyol detained

Earlier, reports said that a resident of Yangiyol city in Tashkent Region had raised and cared for a dog before slaughtering and consuming it. On January 12 this year, a court reviewed the case of the individual who committed the act, along with his accomplices, and sentenced them to 10 days of administrative detention. The information was reported by the Mehr va Oqibat Animal Protection Society.

According to the report, officers from the Internal Affairs Department initially identified the offenders. It was later established that they were three residents of Yangiyol city. One of them restrained the dog, the second slaughtered it, and the third, who was the owner, skinned the animal.

It was also reported that a fourth individual was involved in the incident. He cut the dog into pieces and consumed kebabs prepared from the meat together with the others.

According to the statement, on January 12 the Yangiyol District Criminal Court of Tashkent Region sentenced three individuals to 10 days of administrative arrest under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which covers cruel treatment of animals. The fourth individual was not punished.

It is worth recalling that in September 2025, reports also emerged from the same Yangiyol district that kebabs made from sparrow meat were being prepared and sold at a local teahouse.
