Yesterday, November 11, the Uzbekistan U-17 national team defeated Panama 6-1 in the third group-stage match of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, securing their place in the knockout stage. Coach Islom Ismoilov’s squad will face Croatia in the round of 16.
The Croatian U-17 team advanced from Group C with two wins and one draw, finishing second in the group. They drew 0-0 with Senegal in the opening match, defeated the UAE 3-0 in the second game, and beat Costa Rica 3-1 in the final group-stage match.
Uzbekistan finished second in Group J with two wins and one loss. Ireland topped the group with seven points, Paraguay finished third with four points, and Panama ended last without earning any points.
The winner of the Uzbekistan vs. Croatia match will face the victor of the Italy vs. Czech Republic clash in the round of 8.
