An earthquake was recorded in Uzbekistan on July 14 at 15:55 local time. The tremor occurred in the Bukhara region, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Monitoring.
The epicenter was located in the Jondor district of the Bukhara region, approximately 532 kilometers southwest of Tashkent. The coordinates of the epicenter are 40.42° north latitude and 62.99° east longitude. The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2 and occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers. The intensity at the epicenter was measured at 4 points.
The intensity of the tremors in nearby areas was as follows:
- In Peshku district: 2–3 points (39 km from the epicenter);
- In Gazli city: 2 points (51 km from the epicenter);
- In Karakul district: 2 points (73 km from the epicenter).
It is worth noting that a previous earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 was recently recorded in the Kashkadarya region.
