An earthquake recorded in Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region

Today, July 9, at 3:32 pm, an earthquake was recorded in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan. The information was reported by the Republican Center for Seismological Monitoring.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Nishon district, approximately 422 kilometers southwest of Tashkent. The coordinates were 38.51°N latitude and 65.81°E longitude. The earthquake had a magnitude of 3.5 and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. The intensity at the epicenter reached 4 points.

Reported intensities across Uzbekistan were as follows:

  • Nishon district – 2–3 points (22 km from epicenter)
  • Guzar district – 2 points (29 km from epicenter)
  • Karshi city – 2 points (37 km from epicenter)

It is worth noting that a similar earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 previously occurred in the Karakol district of the Bukhara region.
