Honored Artist of Uzbekistan and a prominent figure in Uzbek circus art, Olimjon Toshkenboyev, has passed away at the age of 81, the Ministry of Culture reported.
Toshkenboyev led the “Uzbekistan Dorbozlari” (tightrope walkers) group for many years and made a significant contribution to the development of the national art of tightrope walking.
Under his leadership, the “Uzbekistan Dorbozlari” group successfully performed in numerous foreign countries, including Poland, Germany, Egypt, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador.
He also worked as a director at the “Uzbektsirk” association, where he trained many students and contributed to the growth of the next generation of performers.
