Uzbekistan has officially introduced a visa-free entry regime for citizens of six states. This is stated in the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution "On making amendments to certain resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and on recognizing some as having lost force," adopted on October 21.
According to the document, amendments and additions have been made to Resolution No. 408 of November 21, 1996. Specifically, six more countries have been added to the list of countries for which a visa-free regime has been introduced in the Republic of Uzbekistan (previously, there were 85):
- Bahrain;
- Qatar;
- Kuwait;
- Oman;
- Saudi Arabia;
- Jordan.
Citizens of these countries are now entitled to visa-free entry to Uzbekistan for up to 30 days.
Furthermore, the period of visa-free stay for citizens of China has been extended up to 30 days. The exception of a visa-free entry for up to seven days for residents of Hong Kong remains in place, as before.
Additionally, a simplified procedure for obtaining business visas has been introduced for citizens of 15 countries. These are:
- Austria;
- Belgium;
- Great Britain;
- Germany;
- Spain;
- Italy;
- Latvia;
- Malaysia;
- France;
- Czech Republic;
- Switzerland;
- Japan;
- United Arab Emirates;
- Iran;
- Pakistan.
It is worth noting that Montenegro had previously abolished the visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan.
