The body of a missing Uzbek citizen was found after search operations in Turkey’s Muğla province. Local law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation into the incident. Cumhuriyet reported this.
According to the publication, the 21-year-old Uzbek man had gone swimming in a river in Seydikemer district of Muğla province. After some time passed, his family members became concerned when he did not return home.
The young man’s father began searching for him on his own and went to the riverbank. There, he found his son’s clothes and belongings left behind and immediately contacted the 112 emergency service.
After the report was received, gendarmerie officers, medical workers, emergency service personnel, marine police and search and rescue teams arrived at the scene. Qualified divers were also involved in underwater search operations.
As a result of the search and rescue efforts, the body of the Uzbek citizen was found at the bottom of the river. After a preliminary examination by law enforcement officers, the body of the deceased was sent to the morgue for forensic medical examination.
An official investigation is currently ongoing to determine all the circumstances of the tragedy.
It is worth noting that in June this year, it was reported that four Uzbek citizens had died in Turkey within three days.
