6536On February 21, Air Samarkand flight 9S-1021, scheduled to depart from Tashkent to Phu Quoc at 23:55, was canceled due to technical reasons, the airline’s press service reported.
According to the airline, the flight crew detected vibrations in the landing gear during takeoff and, following aviation safety protocols, aborted the flight. The aircraft was returned to the terminal, where engineers conducted a thorough inspection.
The inspection revealed that certain components needed replacement, and the necessary repairs are currently underway. After the malfunction is fixed, the aircraft will undergo an additional safety check before resuming operations.
As per aviation regulations, passengers were accommodated in a hotel, and the rescheduled departure is set for February 22 at 22:00 local time.
Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s largest island, located in the southwestern part of the country. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its beaches and resorts.
It should be noted that earlier, Air Samarkand flight UZS4003 (Tashkent-Jeddah) made an emergency landing in Bahrain due to a medical emergency. During the flight, a 75-year-old passenger suffered a second heart attack. A doctor on board confirmed that the patient’s life was in serious danger, prompting the unscheduled landing.
