Shavkat Mirziyoyev attends flower festival in Namangan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the traditional flower festival during his trip to Namangan today, June 23. The presidential press service reported this.

It was noted that after the festival’s duration was extended from three days in 2018 to 40 days in 2025, the number of foreign tourists increased from 25,000 to 800,000, while the number of local tourists reached 6.4 million.

The next goal is to attract 1 million foreign tourists from more than 50 countries and 7 million local tourists, hold more than 150 events and increase the volume of services to 8 trillion soums.

The 65th International Flower Festival, which runs from May 24 to July 12 this year, is also being held in a special festive atmosphere. The festival has been officially included in the Guinness World Records. As part of the process, representatives of the book observed for one month as residents of Namangan city manually planted more than 29 million flower seedlings. As a result, a world record was registered.

In Namangan city, 45 mahallas have been specialized in floriculture, covering 16,000 households and providing employment for 21,000 residents. In March and April, 4,683 greenhouses were established on the household plots of these homes, where 120 million flower seedlings were grown. Residents earned an additional 300 billion soums in income.

The head of state reviewed the flower compositions, themed areas and exhibitions created as part of the festival. He congratulated residents engaged in floriculture, entrepreneurs, festival participants and guests.
