President Mirziyoyev introduces Saida Mirziyoyeva to EU leaders

8908Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev introduced his eldest daughter, Presidential Assistant Saida Mirziyoyeva, to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa. Mirziyoyeva shared this on her social media page.
“I am honored to personally meet António Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, during the forum. The leadership and consistency of Mrs. von der Leyen in promoting the climate agenda are inspiring and reinforce trust in effective international cooperation,” Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote.
António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Samarkand on April 2 to participate in the first high-level summit in the “Central Asia – European Union” format. On April 3, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held meetings with António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen. During their discussions, an agreement to establish the European Investment Bank’s regional office in Tashkent was signed.
On April 4, Costa and von der Leyen participated in the first “Central Asia – European Union” summit and the Samarkand International Climate Forum.
