Leaders of Central Asia and the European Union visit Aral Sea exhibition

3271Following the first official high-level meeting in the "Central Asia–European Union" format, the heads of state visited the exhibition of the Aral Sea Culture Summit together. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The exhibition featured unique initiatives aimed at restoring the Aral Sea ecosystem, preserving the region's cultural heritage, and promoting its sustainable development. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the natural and cultural richness of the Aral Sea region through visual, sensory, and interactive displays.
Among the exhibits were works by Iwan Baan, a renowned photographer specializing in architectural and landscape photography; a floristic composition made from reeds native to Karakalpakstan; and traditional products from the Aral Sea region, including saxaul seeds, seashells, natural salt, dried isiruk, patterned felt, and many other items.
For reference, the summit was chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and was attended by President of the European Council António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The leaders also participated in the Samarkand International Climate Forum.
