Uzbek and Russian leaders discuss strategic partnership at the Kremlin

On May 9, as part of official events in Moscow, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin, according to the Uzbek Presidential Press Service.

At the beginning of the conversation, the two leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. Discussions focused on expanding Uzbekistan-Russia strategic partnership and alliance, including implementing agreements reached during Putin’s visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in trade, economic, and investment cooperation through coordinated measures. The meeting also highlighted the need to accelerate the development and implementation of priority economic projects and encourage regional partnerships.

The presidents expressed satisfaction with progress in cultural, artistic, scientific, and educational exchanges, noting their positive impact on bilateral relations.

Additionally, Mirziyoyev and Putin shared views on pressing international issues, underscoring the importance of diplomatic dialogue on global affairs.

Following the meeting, President Mirziyoyev departed for Tashkent. At Vnukovo International Airport, Russian officials bid farewell to the Uzbek head of state.
