Mirziyoyev states: “Uzbekistan has removed barriers for investors”

In order to ensure a policy of openness, Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free regime for the citizens of 90 foreign countries. The president of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced this at the opening ceremony of the first Tashkent International Investment Forum today, 24 March.
During the speech, the president drew attention to a wide range of conditions created for investors.
He noted that in 2017, the introduction of free conversion of the national currency – som, removed all restrictions on repatriation of profits by foreign investors.
“For the first time, our banks and large enterprises received international ratings and entered the world financial markets. International bonds in our national currency have also been issued on world markets.
At the same time, we are well aware of the need for a smooth continuation of our reforms on banking and finance.
In order to ensure the policy of openness in our country, we have created a visa-free regime in Uzbekistan for citizens of 90 foreign countries », – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the president, citizens of about 60 other countries have been granted the right to obtain a visa on a preferential basis.
«It’s no secret that Uzbekistan has become the most open country in the region in terms of these indicators, »-the head of the state added.
