The “Tul” checkpoint on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border has been temporarily closed, the State Committee of National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported on August 13.

It was stated that erosion of the bridge columns between the “Otukchu” (Kyrgyzstan) and “Tul” (Uzbekistan) checkpoints led to the decision to close the point.

Citizens and transport crossing the border will temporarily be directed to the “Apkan” checkpoint. This control post operates from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and is only intended for citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

According to the border service, the “Apkan” checkpoint is located in the Apkan village of Batken district, Batken region, Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier, the movement of people, light vehicles, buses, and cargo vehicles with a capacity of up to 3.5 tons was reportedly suspended until September 1 this year at the “Tajen” checkpoint between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
