Kindergarten teacher penalized for violence against children (video)

A disturbing video has surfaced on social media showing a kindergarten teacher in Samarqand physically abusing and insulting children. The incident, which occurred on February 14 at the 25th Preschool Educational Institution in Jomboy district, has been confirmed by the Regional Department of Preschool and School Education.

According to reports, the teacher, identified as G.A., was found guilty of physically assaulting the children. Her case was reviewed by the Jomboy District Criminal Court, which imposed a fine equivalent to three times the base calculation amount. Additionally, her employment contract was terminated at her initiative.

This is not the first such incident in Uzbekistan. Earlier, a kindergarten teacher in Tashkent region was reported to have beaten children with a gymnastics stick. Similarly, another teacher in the same institution was found to have treated children harshly. In another case, teachers at the "Tanzilandiya" private preschool in Tashkent's Mirzo Ulugbek district were accused of violent behavior toward children. At the "First Daycare" private preschool in Yunusobod district, a teacher and an assistant reportedly taped a child to a chair for refusing to eat.

Following these incidents, Senator Bahrom Abdullayev, Chair of the Senate Committee on Science, Education, and Health, sent an inquiry to Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova. On February 28, during a press conference at the Agency of Information and Mass Communications (AOKA), Sardor Rajabov announced that the Ministry had filed a lawsuit to take appropriate action against the "Tanzilandiya" preschool.
