A post circulated on social media alleging that a conflict had occurred among students at a general education school in Kogon city, Bukhara Region, and that the school administration had failed to provide an impartial and comprehensive assessment of the incident. In response, the press service of the Bukhara Regional Department of Preschool and School Education issued an official statement.

According to the statement, on January 20 this year, a disagreement arose between a ninth-grade and a fifth-grade female student during a break at Secondary School No. 3 in Kogon city, Bukhara Region. The incident reportedly began with a verbal argument and the exchange of offensive remarks before escalating into a physical confrontation.

The situation was promptly brought under control by school teachers, and explanatory and reconciliation measures were carried out between the students.

However, as the parents of the ninth-grade student filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies, an official inquiry into the incident is currently being conducted by the relevant authorities in accordance with established procedures.

“The incident will be fully examined, and appropriate conclusions will be drawn within the framework of the law. Additional information will be provided based on the results of the review,” the statement said.

According to information provided to QALAMPIR.UZ by the mother of one of the participants, her daughter was performing her duties as a hall monitor on school premises when she verbally reminded two female students to comply with internal school rules. Despite this, the girls allegedly used a prohibited route for the second time. Shortly afterward, two male classmates also passed through the same area and reportedly pushed the complainant’s daughter. The girl then took the cap of one of the boys with the intention of reporting the matter to a teacher. The two girls who had passed earlier later returned and demanded that she return the boy’s cap, after which a conflict broke out between the girls.

“The purpose of my appeal is not to accuse anyone, but to ensure the protection of minors’ rights, adherence to safety and fairness principles in the school environment, and to draw impartial public attention to the situation,” the mother said.

It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that parents of students who were caught playing cards at a school in Namangan had been penalized.
