Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov attended a meeting of foreign ministers in Doha on September 14 to prepare for the joint extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States. He announced this on his social media page.
“Today, together with my colleagues, we participated in a meeting of foreign ministers in preparation for the joint extraordinary summit of the OIC and the League of Arab States, dedicated to discussing the recent Israeli attack on the State of Qatar,” the minister wrote.

According to reports, the agenda includes pressing regional and global issues, emerging threats to peace, and the importance of negotiations and dialogue.
“We highly appreciate Qatar’s steadfast and selfless efforts to strengthen peace and prosperity in the region through diplomacy. Uzbekistan has always been a supporter of resolving all disputes only through dialogue and will remain faithful to this principle,” Saidov emphasized.
For reference, following Israel’s airstrikes on Doha, Qatar convened an extraordinary summit of Arab and Islamic countries on September 11. Advisor to the Prime Minister of Qatar, Majid bin Mohammed Al Ansari, confirmed that condemning Israel’s actions would be the main item on the agenda.
Holding the summit on such short notice is seen as a demonstration of Qatari, Arab, and Islamic solidarity in the wake of the recent tragic events. The summit in Doha is expected to adopt a resolution strongly condemning Israel’s recent attacks on Qatari territory. The participating countries also plan to introduce a document calling for an end to Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip and ensuring peace and stability in the Middle East.
