The case of a teacher accused of inappropriate behavior toward a 10-year-old student in Tashkent has been sent back for further investigation. Initially, the teacher was sentenced to five days of administrative detention, but this decision has been overturned following a prosecutor’s appeal. The Children’s Ombudsman reported the development.

The Ombudsman reviewed the March 3 ruling by the Yakkasaroy District Criminal Court and found it inconsistent with the child’s rights. Consequently, a request was submitted to the Tashkent City Prosecutor’s Office to appeal the court’s decision. The prosecutor’s protest led to the annulment of the initial ruling, and the case has been returned to the district prosecutor’s office for additional investigation. The inquiry is currently ongoing.

The incident occurred on February 16 at an art school in Yakkasaroy District. The accused, a teacher born in 2000, allegedly made inappropriate comments about the physique of a student born in 2015, touched her shoulders, and engaged in other inappropriate behavior during class.

It is worth noting that a similar case was reported earlier in Tashkent’s Olmazor District, where a man was sentenced to prison for inappropriate actions toward a 17-year-old girl, causing her minor injuries.
