Tokayev arrives in Tashkent as first foreign leader to land at new airport

Today, November 14, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan arrived in Tashkent on a state visit. The information was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
President Mirziyoyev welcomed the high-ranking guest. Tokayev became the first foreign head of state to land at the new Tashkent East Airport.

According to the visit program, high-level talks and the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, chaired by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, are scheduled to take place. The main agenda focuses on deepening cooperation in priority areas such as trade, industrial cooperation, transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, water resources, and cultural and humanitarian projects.
The parties will also exchange views on pressing issues of regional and global politics, as well as cooperation within multilateral formats. Plans include launching the International Industrial Cooperation Center and several joint projects, along with signing a package of documents aimed at further strengthening the Uzbekistan–Kazakhstan strategic partnership and alliance.

On November 16, the President of Kazakhstan will also take part in the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian states.
It is worth noting that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan paid a state visit to Moscow on November 11–12. Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a declaration to elevate relations between the two countries to the level of a full strategic partnership and alliance.
