Television pioneer Marat Asadullaev dies at 75

7127Prominent Uzbek journalist and television figure Marat Asadullaev has passed away at the age of 75. The news was shared by journalist Sevdo Niyozova on her Facebook page.
Born on February 13, 1950, in Tashkent to a working-class family, Asadullaev pursued his education at the present-day National University of Uzbekistan from 1968 to 1974. He began his career in theater before transitioning to television in 1971. Starting as an assistant director, he rose through the ranks to become a chief editor.
In 2002, Asadullaev authored the television series “Qirq tog‘oraning qirq nog‘orasi,” which aired on the Tashkent channel of Uzbekistan’s National Television and Radio Company. The project garnered significant attention and acclaim.
This loss follows the recent passing of another cultural icon, Shodmon Otabek, a celebrated writer and honored cultural worker of Uzbekistan, who died at the age of 79.
