A criminal investigation was launched against a 35-year-old woman from Pakhtakor district after she was apprehended by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for engaging in unprotected intercourse with a stranger, despite being aware of her HIV status.
Similarly, in Sharof Rashidov district, a 34-year-old man, despite being aware of his HIV-positive status and doctor's warnings, clandestinely cohabited with a 29-year-old woman, transmitting the disease to her.
The Republic's AIDS Combat Center issued a warning, stating that HIV-positive individuals would face legal repercussions for deliberately transmitting the virus, emphasizing adherence to the law.
