Law enforcement cracks down on corruption in Jizzakh

Law enforcement officials in Jizzakh have arrested an employee of the Jizzakh City Branch of the Territorial Electric Networks for allegedly accepting a bribe of $1,000. The regional police department reported that the incident was uncovered during a sting operation.

According to authorities, the suspect, identified as N.S.O., was caught red-handed while receiving money from N.Q.J., a resident of Zomin district, in exchange for securing a position at the Jizzakh branch of the company.

A criminal case has been opened under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigations are currently underway.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Personal Security Department collaborated with law enforcement agencies in Andijan province to conduct a similar operation, where an individual was caught offering a bribe to a traffic patrol inspector in Paxtaobod district.
