Market area disrupted by fire in Jizzakh: Tea house and shops suffer extensive damage

5102On May 17, a fire broke out at a tea house located in the market district of Jizzakh region, causing significant damage to surrounding commercial premises. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, approximately 400–500 square meters of shop space was burned during the incident.
In response, authorities deployed an extensive firefighting effort, mobilizing 11 primary fire-rescue teams, 1 specialized unit, and 2 auxiliary vehicles to tackle the blaze. The fire also damaged a two-story communal dining hall along with nearby shops covering an area of roughly 400–500 square meters.
No injuries have been reported to the Emergency Situations Service related to the incident, and investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire and assess the total material losses incurred.
Reports indicate that the fire incident took place on May 17. Initially, two fire-rescue teams arrived at the scene at approximately 13:39, and after a firefighting operation lasting 1 hour and 11 minutes, the blaze was successfully extinguished by 14:50.
It is also worth recalling that on May 16, a separate fire was reported in two adjoining houses in the Sergeli district of Tashkent, which resulted in damage to approximately 300 square meters of interior and roof surfaces. No casualties were reported in that earlier event.
