2998A store in the Jizzakh region was discovered to have stolen electricity worth 1.1 billion soums, according to the Inspection for the Control of the Use of Electric Energy, Oil Products, and Gas.
The incident was uncovered as part of Energy Security Month during a control event conducted by the "Ozenergoinspeksiya" Jizzakh regional administration in cooperation with the department under the General Prosecutor's Office and the State Prosecutor's Office. It was revealed that the gate-making shop owned by citizen S.O. was involved in the violation.
Preliminary calculations indicate that the electricity supply company incurred a loss of 1 billion 160 million soums due to this unauthorized use.
As a result, relevant documents were prepared and submitted to law enforcement agencies.
Previously, several "zapravkas" (gas stations) involved in the theft of gas and electricity worth nearly 5 billion soums were also identified. In response, criminal cases were initiated under Article 169 of the Criminal Code (theft), and investigations are ongoing.
