Javohir Sindorov wins $1 million tournament with his team

7503The "Global Chess League 2024" competition, held from October 3-12 in London, United Kingdom, has concluded.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javohir Sindorov participated in the event, representing different teams. In the final, Sindorov’s team, "Triveni Continental Kings," emerged victorious, defeating Abdusattorov's team, "Alaskan Knights," which had to settle for second place.
The final match ended with a score of 7-13, with the "Alaskan Knights" taking the runner-up position and securing a prize of $250,000. Sindorov’s team claimed the championship and earned $500,000.
Earlier, in Shusha, Azerbaijan, a traditional chess competition dedicated to the memory of Vugar Gashimov was also held. The tournament, which featured rapid and blitz formats, awarded prizes based on the combined results of both events. A total of eight grandmasters participated in this prestigious event, which marked its 10th edition.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov scored 10 points in the blitz matches, finishing first. Yan Nepomnyashchi from Russia secured second place, while India’s Aravind Chitambaram came in third. In the rapid matches, Abdusattorov scored 8 points, finishing in fourth place overall.
