FIDE December rankings: Uzbek chess players shine with improved positions

3623The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has updated its December rankings, with 5 Uzbek chess players making notable improvements. This was reported by the FIDE press service.
According to the updated rankings, five Uzbek grandmasters have risen within the top 100. Nodirbek Abdusattorov, who remains in 6th place, has accumulated 2,768 points, although his rating decreased by 9 points compared to last month. Abdusattorov held the same position in the previous ranking.
Javohir Sindorov moved up to 37th place with 2,692 points, advancing from 46th in November. Rustam Kasimjonov took 45th place with 2,683 points, while Shamsiddin Vohidov secured 52nd place with 2,670 points. Nodirbek Yakubboev earned 67th place with 2,659 points, slipping slightly from 62nd place last month.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov, who had been leading the youth rankings for several months, will be removed from the youth category in 2025 when he turns 21. In the top three of the youth rankings, Uzbek player Javohir Sindorov is currently leading. Another Uzbek player, Muhriddin Madaminov, is in 31st place, while Muhammadzohid Suyunov holds 68th place
