South Korea appoints a new ambassador to Uzbekistan

Won Do Young has been named the new ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, as announced by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

"We have received copies of Mr. Won Do-yong's credentials. We eagerly anticipate the forthcoming visit of President Yoon Seok-yol of the Republic of Korea to our country. Special emphasis will be placed on preparing for the presidential summit, executing joint projects, and identifying new growth opportunities within our traditionally close relationship. We wish the ambassador success in his mission in Uzbekistan," Bakhtiyor Saidov stated on his Telegram channel.

Additionally, President Yoon Seok-yol of the Republic of Korea, accompanied by his wife, will be making a state visit to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan from June 10-15.

As a reminder, on June 4, Smita Pant, the newly appointed ambassador of India to Uzbekistan, presented copies of her credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov.
