Will Zafar Imamkhojayev return to commentary?

Zafar Imomkhojayev, a well-known sports commentator who currently works as the director of the Press and Media Department of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan (NOC), does not intend to return to commentary. The expert revealed this in an interview with QALAMPIR.UZ.

It should be noted that Zafar Imomkhojayev worked at the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan for 17 years. The “Football Review” program, authored by him, gained great popularity among sports fans at the time. However, due to the influence of the “Soccer Club” program, which was written by his nephew Diyar Imomkhozhayev, Zafar Imomkhozhayev, who is currently serving as the head of the Professional Football League of Uzbekistan, was fired from the “Sport” TV channel in early 2016, and the program was suspended.

“Anything can happen. I’ll tell you the truth, when I was fired from the “Sport” TV channel, I wondered if the pain would linger in my heart. I enjoyed working with the audience, preparing a show. I don’t even care who initiated the idea of firing me. At that time, there were many speculations about who was behind this decision. Some believed it was related to the football federation rather than the television channel. But what’s important is that I lost a job I loved, and it took me a long time to recover mentally. When I think back to that time, it still hurts me a lot. Honestly, I’m not considering a return to commentary. I am very satisfied with my current job,” said Zafar Imomkhojayev.
