Yusuf Qobuljonov, the newly appointed Consul General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok, met on July 29 with Yuriy Melnikov, the Human Rights Representative of the Primorsky Krai, and the regional leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. This meeting was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.

During the meeting, current issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration, as well as the protection of the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens temporarily residing in the Primorsky Krai, were discussed.

Additionally, they addressed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, the presence of Uzbek citizens in Russia, and the violations of their rights.

To prevent violations of the rights of Uzbek citizens, an agreement was reached to conduct explanatory and preventive work across all investigative units of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It should be noted that earlier reports indicated that the police in the Voronezh region conducted raids on several construction sites in Voronezh to check compliance with migration legislation. Labor migrants from Uzbekistan were detained during these raids. Further information was later provided about the detained Uzbek migrants.
