Earlier, it was reported that a group of local youths assaulted Uzbek migrants on Khabarovsk Street in the Russian city of Vladivostok. The Primorsky Krai Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has since opened a criminal case against the teenagers suspected of hooliganism. Following the incident, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok, Yusuf Qabilzhanov, issued a warning to Uzbek citizens living in the Primorsky Krai.
According to him, several videos of attacks against Uzbek citizens by local minors in Vladivostok have circulated on social networks. As a result of the investigation conducted by law enforcement agencies in the Primorsky Krai, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Russian Federation’s Criminal Code. One suspect was detained, while search warrants were issued for the remaining participants.
Despite the swift search and investigation carried out by Russian law enforcement authorities, some individuals have posted on social networks offering financial rewards in exchange for information about the minors involved, with calls to punish them independently.
“It should be noted that we officially warn those who post such content on social networks not to take illegal actions and to strictly observe the restrictions and rules established by law. Otherwise, we inform you that those who commit unlawful acts will be held accountable in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. The incident is under the control of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok and the law enforcement agencies of the Primorsky Krai of the Russian Federation,” said Yusuf Qabilzhanov.
