On September 13, a group of local youths assaulted several migrants, reportedly from Uzbekistan, on Khabarovsk Street in Vladivostok. The incident was reported by “Vladivostok1.”

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers first threw stones at cars carrying migrants and later assaulted the drivers after they got out to talk. Several people were injured during the attack.

The assailants recorded the incident on video, with the author heard laughing and encouraging the attackers. In the footage, the driver can be seen demanding that one of the assailants drop a knife while defending himself with a scooter. Another migrant attempted to hide in a store, but the group followed him inside and struck him in the face. When someone warned that there was a surveillance camera in the store, the person filming replied, “I know,” and continued recording while laughing.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident. According to “Vladivostok1,” neither the victims nor witnesses have filed complaints, and it is believed that all those involved in the attack may have been minors.

The Consul General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok, Yusuf Qabiljanov, commented on the situation. He stated that as soon as the incident became known, the consulate made immediate contact with the victims and provided legal assistance. Uzbek citizens have also submitted an official application to the Vladivostok Department of Internal Affairs. Notes were sent to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s local office and the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor’s Office requesting appropriate measures.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok, together with Russian law enforcement agencies, is monitoring the situation.

It should be noted that last month a Russian citizen verbally insulted an Uzbek taxi driver in the Moscow Region, repeatedly referring to his nationality and calling him a “slave of the Russians.” Following that incident, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry sent an official note to its Russian counterpart, demanding the identification of the individual and legal action.

That altercation occurred in the “Solar System” residential complex in Khimki. The Uzbek taxi driver, Bakhtiyor, was dropping off a passenger when he was insulted by an intoxicated man who claimed to be a participant in the “special military operation” in Ukraine. The man also brandished a knife, but the driver responded calmly, avoiding provocation.
