A driver was arrested after arguing with the inspector of the Road Patrol service 

A video depicting a heated altercation between a driver and a Road Patrol service employee in the Kashkadarya region has been circulated on social media and has sparked widespread discussion. The Information Service of the Regional Internal Affairs Department has issued an official response to this situation.

According to the official statement on 12 April of this year at 17:40 p.m., a citizen identified as K.M. was driving a Lacetti vehicle along the M-39 highway in the direction of Kitab-Shahrisabz while under the influence of alcohol.  As a result of his intoxicated state, K.M. lost control of his vehicle and collided with a "Hamkor" motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.  

At the time of the accident, a senior inspector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Shahrisabz City was on duty and stopped K.M. in order to formalize the road traffic accident and conduct a breathalyser test to determine the extent of his alcohol intoxication.  However, K.M. refused to comply with the inspector's legal demands and prevented him from performing his duties.  

As a result of K.M.'s noncompliance, the Shahrisabz city prosecutor’s office initiated a criminal case against him under Article 219 of the Criminal Code.  K.M. was detained in accordance with legal procedures and a preventative measure of imprisonment was applied.  The investigation is currently ongoing.
