A lottery will be organized annually for families who achieve the status of "Green Family," with 14 electric cars available as prizes. This initiative is outlined in the draft Presidential Decree "On the State Program for the Implementation of the Strategy 'Uzbekistan-2030' in the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy," currently open for public discussion.

The draft state program includes plans to launch the nationwide movement "One Million Green Families," aimed at fostering an eco-active lifestyle. Key principles of the program include promoting activities such as walking 10,000 steps daily, supporting green transportation like bicycles, reducing the use of plastic products, minimizing food waste, and encouraging the rational use of energy resources.

A dedicated digital platform will also be introduced to support this campaign. It will encourage citizens to adopt eco-friendly behaviors and reward high achievers with the title of “Eco-Active Citizen.” Holders of this status will enjoy benefits, including a 10% discount on government services and consumer loans offered by state-owned banks.

Families can earn the “Green Family” designation when all members achieve the “Eco-Active Citizen” status. These families will be eligible to participate in the annual lottery to win one of the 14 electric cars.

Furthermore, the program aims for at least 50% of the population to become part of a “Green Family.” Competitions such as the "Cleanest Neighborhood" and "Greenest Neighborhood" will also be held in areas with significant participation. Winners will receive a fund of $41,000, which will be used to build playgrounds, create green parks, and enhance garbage collection infrastructure.

The draft law is open for public discussion until January 22.

Earlier reports suggested that the sale of AI-80 gasoline in Uzbekistan might be restricted by 2025. It is proposed to phase out the use and sale of motor fuels with environmental standards below Euro-4 by the end of 2025.
