Embezzlement of wages and benefits in January-October was reported

3826In Uzbekistan, 5.8 billion soums in wages and benefits were embezzled between January and October of this year, resulting in the initiation of 71 criminal cases. This information was disclosed by the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the report, thanks to the intervention of the prosecutor's office, debts amounting to 11.6 trillion soums were collected. Additionally, properties worth 8.9 trillion soums that were pledged for loans were sold, and enforcement documents leading to the collection of 1.6 trillion soums in wages owed by debtors were processed.
During oversight measures, it was found that 2.5 trillion soums in loan funds had been embezzled, which led to 906 criminal cases against the heads of banks and client enterprises.
A significant focus was also placed on ensuring the quality of construction and the appropriate use of funds for projects under the 2024 investment program. Instances of poor-quality work amounting to 61.2 billion soums and cases of financial misuse worth 82.1 billion soums were addressed on-site, preventing further violations.
During these control measures, 466 individuals were held accountable through disciplinary actions, while 1,854 faced administrative penalties. Additionally, 262 criminal cases were initiated for severe legal violations, and damages amounting to 71 billion soums were recovered.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated increases in wages, pensions, and benefits in Uzbekistan.
