Uzbekistan joins Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty

1941The Republic of Uzbekistan has officially become a member of the Global Alliance to Fight Hunger and Poverty, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"This marks a significant step in bolstering global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing food security within the country," the statement emphasized.
Uzbekistan's decision to join the alliance stems from its commitment to addressing growing global challenges in food security and its determination to play an active role in combating hunger, poverty, and inequality.
Membership in the Global Alliance offers Uzbekistan valuable opportunities for experience sharing, attracting international investments, and collaborating on joint programs with other countries and organizations. As of now, over 100 nations have signed on to the alliance’s framework.
For context, the alliance welcomes participation from governments, international organizations, research institutions, development funds, banks, and charitable entities. Member states can adopt the alliance’s policy tools and programs while benefiting from technical and financial support provided by other members. Currently, the alliance includes 97 countries and 66 organizations as active participants.
