Uzbekistan completes WTO accession negotiations with the Philippines

1476Uzbekistan has finalized bilateral negotiations with the Philippines regarding its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This development was announced on December 1 by Azizbek Urunov, the Special Representative of the President for WTO Affairs, on his LinkedIn page.
During a meeting held in Geneva on the same day, Urunov and the Philippines' ambassador to the WTO, Tikhanki Manuel, signed the protocol. The ceremony was attended by WTO Deputy Director-General Zhang Xiancheng.
“I would like to express my gratitude to one of the best ambassadors I know in Geneva for his participation, support, and joint delivery,” Urunov stated.
With this agreement, the Philippines becomes the 23rd country to complete bilateral negotiations with Uzbekistan on WTO accession. In recent months, Uzbekistan has also concluded similar negotiations with El Salvador, the United States, and China.
