3 uzbek boxers lead in the updated WBA rankings

The World Boxing Association (WBA) has announced its updated rankings for the end of August, with 8 Uzbek boxers featured.

Notably, Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov secured the top spot in the minimum weight category, while Murodjon Ahmadaliev ranked first in the super bantamweight division, and Shahram Giyasov topped the welterweight category. Isroil Madrimov, competing in super welterweight, was ranked third.

Additionally, Otabek Kholmatov, fighting in the featherweight division, claimed 5th place and Bektemir Melikuziev took 6th in the super middleweight category.

In the super bantamweight division, Muhammed Shekhov finished in the top ten, while Botir Akhmedov ranked 13th in the super lightweight division.

For context, in the July rankings, Uzbek professional boxers Hasanboy Dusmatov, Murodjon Ahmadaliev, and Shahram Giyasov were all ranked first in their respective weight categories by the WBA.

It is also worth noting that the IBA recently announced the prize money for Olympic medalists.
