7994Uzbek boxer Khavasbek Asadullaev, who recently claimed the gold medal in the -71 kg weight category at the Asian Senior Boxing Championship in Thailand, has been disqualified for violating the rules, despite defeating his Kazakh opponent in the final. This was reported by the Asian Boxing Confederation.

According to clause 19.8.1 of the boxing rules, if a boxer is disqualified for any reason, his opponent is declared the winner of the match.
Following Asadullaev's disqualification, Aziz Kozhambetov, the interim president of the confederation, announced that Kazakhstan's Ablaikhan Zhussupov was the winner of the 71 kg weight category.
As a result, the number of medals won by the Uzbekistan men's boxing team at the Asian Championship decreased by one, reducing their gold medal count to seven.
