4906A new metro line will be built to connect the future city of New Tashkent with the capital. This was revealed during a presentation of upcoming construction and public transport projects in Tashkent, which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended on the evening of June 16.
The line will start from the current "Dostlik" metro station and extend to the new administrative center. The planned metro, which will be 21 kilometers long and include nine stations, is expected to carry up to 230,000 passengers per day.
As previously announced, it is also planned to extend the metro line to the Tashkent Tractor Plant area. This project will be implemented in two stages. In the first stage, a surface-level metro line will be constructed from the Pushkin station along Chilonzor Road to the Tashkent Ring Road. In the second stage, an underground line will be built from that point to the Shah station in the Tractor Plant estate.
To ensure smooth vehicle flow, the railway will pass beneath the Tashkent Ring Road. The underground section of the metro will be constructed without disrupting road traffic. This extension is expected to serve around 85,000 passengers daily.
The presentation included an overview of the technical and economic feasibility of the projects. The President gave instructions to enhance construction quality and urban planning standards, with a focus on creating comfortable and modern public transport conditions for residents.
