Undergraduate students in state higher education institutions who achieve a GPA of 4.0 or higher in a given academic year and belong to specific social categories will be awarded additional state grants for the 2025-2026 academic year. This decision was made through a government resolution on March 10 of this year.

It has been announced that students must submit their applications through the official website of their respective higher education institutions by July 20 each year. Applications will then be reviewed by a commission by July 25 to confirm both the academic performance (GPA of 4.0 or higher) and the applicant’s eligibility based on their social category.

Students selected for the additional grants will be notified by their institutions by September 5 annually. Furthermore, the categories eligible for such additional grants will be approved jointly by the National Social Protection Agency and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations.

Previously, it was reported that students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher could qualify for state grants. Under this system, students admitted on a contract basis can transition to state grants if they excel academically, whereas grant recipients who fail to maintain their performance may be moved to contract status.
