More than 100 deputy mayors who neglected their responsibilities are set to be dismissed

During a video selectors meeting on January 16, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that 123 assistant mayors in Sharof Rashidov, Pastdargom, Angor districts, as well as Andijan and Termiz cities, failed to effectively encourage the population toward entrepreneurship. The President instructed their replacement, as reported by his press secretary, Sherzod Asadov.
Last year, only 30% of the plan to create permanent jobs in 16 districts and cities was realized. The President criticized employment agencies for easily resorting to granting benefits instead of facilitating actual job placement.
President Mirziyoyev also highlighted the lack of results from deputy governors in 319 neighborhoods across the republic regarding citizen involvement in business, employment growth, and poverty reduction. Specifically, he expressed dissatisfaction with the efforts of 123 assistant mayors in Sharof Rashidov, Pastdargom, Angor districts, Andijan, and Termiz cities in engaging the population in entrepreneurship. Consequently, the head of state mandated a complete overhaul of these deputy governors and the attachment of experienced replacements.
