Uzgidromet issues urgent flood warning for eight regions

Uzgidromet has issued an urgent warning for residents in eight regions due to anticipated heavy rains from June 20-24, which could lead to floods in mountainous and foothill areas of Uzbekistan.
Flood risks are particularly high in the following districts:
- Kashkadarya region: Yakkabog, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, and Guzor.
- Surkhandarya region: Sariosia, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shorchi, Qumqorgon, and Muzrobod.
- Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Qoshrabot, Kattaqorgon, Payariq, Jomboy, and Ishtikhon.
- Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiobod.
- Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bostonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchiq, Yuqorichirchiq, and the cities of Angren and Olmaliq.
- Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangiqorgon.
- Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Beshariq.
- Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qorgontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Marhamat, and the city of Khanobod.
"There is a risk of rainwater accumulation across the republic, potentially causing floods in these regions," Uzgidromet reported.
Residents, vacationers, and drivers in mountainous areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
