11924Between May 9 and 11, Uzbekistan will experience a flood event, as informed by the Director of Uzgidromet, Sherzodhoja Habibullayev.
During May 9-11, intermittent rainfall is expected throughout the Republic, with some areas experiencing heavy rain and possible thunderstorms. Wind speeds may reach 15-20 m/s, accompanied by dust in certain areas.
Due to anticipated heavy rainfall between May 9-12, the mountainous regions of the republic, including:
- Kashkadarya region: Yakkabog, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, Guzor districts;
- Surkhandarya region: Sariosia, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shorchi, Qumqorgon, Muzrobot districts;
- Samarkand region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurobod, Qoshrobot, Kattaqorgon, Payariq, Jomboy, Ishtikhon districts;
- Navoi region: Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimekh, and Karmana districts;
- Jizzakh region: Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, Yangiobod districts;
- Tashkent region: Ohangaron, Bostonliq, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchiq, Yuqorichirchiq districts, and Angren, Olmaliq cities;
- Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, Yangiqorgon districts;
- Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Beshariq districts;
- Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qorgontepa, Pakhtaobod, Izboskan, Khojaobod, Marhamat districts, and Khonobod city may experience floods.
The message urges residents, tourists, and drivers in these areas to take precautionary measures.
Additionally, there is a risk of rainwater accumulation across the Republic, potentially leading to flooding in various areas.
