The gold-currency reserve of Uzbekistan decreased in second month

The gross international reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 34 billion, 79.9 million dollars, on 1 September of this year.  This is $527.4 million less than in August. This was reported by the Central Bank.

The physical balance of gold in reserves is 12.3 million troy ounces.  Its financial value declined from $21,078.6 million to $21,001.9 million.

Reserve receivables in foreign currency (freely convertible in foreign currency) decreased from $12.47 billion to $12.044 billion.

International reserves consist of foreign currency, special borrowing rights, reserve position and gold in International Monetary Fund.  Foreign currency mainly includes cash held in banks.

For information, the gross international reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan decreased to 1.06 billion dollars or 0.3 per cent from the beginning of 2022.  The impact of the fall in the gold price from $1,799.25 to $1,712.40 at the beginning of the year is comprised of $1.07 billion.
