Uzbekistan’s gold and currency reserves are decreasing

Uzbekistan’s gold and currency reserves continue to decrease for the fourth month in a row.  As of August 1, the country’s reserves decreased by 71.8 million dollars and amounted to 33.6 billion dollars.  The Central Bank informed about this.

In particular, the amount of foreign currency assets decreased by 14.9 million dollars and amounted to 9.6 billion dollars.

The value of Uzbekistan’s gold reserves decreased by 67.1 million dollars compared to last month and fell to 23.02 billion dollars.

During July, the physical volume of gold also decreased from 12.1 million troy ounces to 11.8 million troy ounces.

For information, in June, the volume of valuable reserves decreased by 650 million dollars and amounted to 33.7 billion dollars.  In May, Uzbekistan sold 11 tons of gold abroad, taking the second place in the world in terms of trade in precious metals.

The decrease in July is the fourth consecutive month of reduction of the country’s reserves.

We remind you that last month the Central Bank updated the information on the international currency reserves of Uzbekistan.  According to him, the gold and currency reserves of Uzbekistan decreased by 1.7 billion dollars in the last 3 months and amounted to 33.72 billion dollars.
