A video showing two people brutally killing porcupines in southern, protected natural areas of Uzbekistan, was circulated on social networks. The State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection responded to the situation.
It is noted that an "Ecological patrol" group consisting of the committee and the employees of the internal affairs bodies is currently studying the location where the situation shown in the video took place and the identity of the citizens.
It should be recalled that in the Administrative Responsibility and Criminal Codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the measure of responsibility for cruelty to animals is defined.
