Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Cuba was appointed

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Ulugbek Lapasov has been appointed as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Cuba.

On November 19, Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Josephine Vidal Ferreiro received Lapasov at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.

During the meeting, Lapasov presented his copies of credentials to the Cuban government.

Ulugbek Lapasov was born on October 14, 1982, in Samarkand. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (2000–2005) and earned a master's degree from Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University in France (2005–2006). Since 2018, Lapasov has served as Uzbekistan's permanent representative to the UN's Geneva office and other international organizations, and since 2022, he has held the position of vice president of the UN Human Rights Council.

In 2023, he was appointed as Uzbekistan's permanent representative to the United Nations, a position he continues to hold.

Previously, Oybek Eshonov was appointed as Uzbekistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Indonesia.
