Uzbekistan appoints first ambassador to Croatia

2130Oybek Shakhavdinov has been appointed as Uzbekistan's first ambassador to Croatia, with his headquarters in Budapest. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary shared the news.
On October 23, Ambassador Oybek Shakhavdinov presented a copy of his credentials to Mirta Jelenš Jupan, Head of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia. During their discussion, they explored the future of cooperation between the two nations.
The 46-year-old diplomat holds degrees from Birmingham University (UK), a master's from Tashkent State Law University, and a degree from Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He began his career at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent and has advanced through all stages of the diplomatic service, eventually heading the Department of Cooperation with European States at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also served at the Uzbek Embassy in Brussels.
Shakhavdinov is fluent in English, Russian, and French. He is also Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Hungary, where his seat is in Budapest, a position he assumed in March of this year.
As a reminder, Rahmatulla Nurimbetov was recently appointed as Uzbekistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Sweden.
