How many Uzbeks remain in Poland?

More than 1,100 Uzbek citizens to be evacuated remain in Poland. Yusup Kabuljanov, an official press-secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported this.

Poland is currently hosting over 1,100 Uzbek citizens. Of these, 550 were accommodated at a gathering point at the Poland state border and 550 at Katowice airport.

"On 2 - 3 March, 671 citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan were evacuated from Ukraine via Katowice Airport in Poland on three «Uzbekistan Airways» aircrafts.  Of these, 129 are women, 82 are children and 14 are babies.

In general, a total of eight flights from Ukraine via Poland repatriated 1,859 of our compatriots. The organization of several more evacuation flights for today have been planned", – Kabuljanov said.

It was noted that the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Ukraine was continuing the evacuation of civilians despite the ongoing hostilities.

It should be stated that citizens of Uzbekistan who have left Ukraine for Poland for future evacuation can stay in the country until 15 March. After the determined period, citizens will be fined under the visa regime.

It was previously reported that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kyiv had registered some 4,300 citizens in Ukraine.
